We know which junctions in London are most dangerous and why, yet year after year, the Mayor, Transport for London (TfL) and London’s boroughs do next to nothing to stop the collisions and resulting lives lost and ruined.
Worse, much of the inaction, weak junction designs and ponderous processes around change is entirely avoidable and appears to come simply from a lack of boldness. That’s why our Dangerous Junctions campaign is demanding change from our Mayor, TfL and London’s councils.
Some London boroughs are turning out safe, high-quality junctions right now. Leaving TfL and most other boroughs behind. We need high-quality and innovative junction designs like Waltham Forest, Newham and Camden can do and we need to streamline processes so that TfL trial changes within weeks of a fatality instead of waiting three years to deliver the weakest possible outcome.
